Allows door to be opened slightly for viewing. Adds security to entry door and helps to prevent forced entry; Addition of thumb turn lock prevents use of emergency release tool to gain access. In case of emergency, the thumb turn will breakaway with approximately 100 lbs. of force. Easy to install using included fasteners
